Cultural Fit? ✅ + Expert Jacket Review You Gotta See
Profiles, Purpose & Putters – All About Cultural Fit.
Here’s a fun one for you – our first featured profile this week is Rit from Scotty Cameron Putters (yep, the most legendary putter in golf history). He's looking for a Graphic Designer to join his team. If that’s you, hit the job listing and drop Rit a message through Malakye. So cool.
Another fun one – Gerard, an expert in apparel & outerwear design and development, shared his breakdown of six “eco-friendly” jackets from various brands. Materials, construction, the whole nine. The results? Well… you’ll see. Check it out and chime in.
People sometimes ask, “What makes Malakye different though?” The most important answer has always been the same: the people here.
That might not sound like a defensible edge - but it is. It’s a moat.
We understand how important cultural fit is - in a design room, a merchandising team, a crew of product developers, marketers, salespeople, ops, supply chain, HR. We get it at a core level. Assembling a group that understands a brand’s position - and aligns with it - is what fuels growth. That’s why Malakye exists. That’s what sets this place apart. And that’s why you are such a critical part of it.
The profiles we feature every week make it easy to see someone's potential cultural fit. That’s why the hero image is huge. A lot can be learned from it. And of course, professional experience and relevance matter too — you’ll see all of that in these profiles.
Good at the job. Cultural alignment. Personal interest. That’s what makes Malakye dope. One of the many things.

Gerard Smith, an outwear & apparel design + construction expert analyzed a group of "eco-friendly" jackets from some top industry brands and found the results shocking, “6 of them showed critical flaws I could spot in 10 minutes. Weak seam construction, low-grade zippers, fabric that would abrade after a few washes.” This is a great read for all who work in product (which is almost everyone here). Check it out and chime in.
